Day 14 of My Month of Gratitude

This one I’m not sure if its a cheat, lol, seeing as I’ve already counted my children but there is something special about this one that can cheer up your day.

  1. My Husband
  2. My Children
  3. My Step-Children
  4. My Step-Grandchildren
  5. My Family
  6. My Friends
  7. My Home
  8. Our Utilities
  9. Our Health
  10. Education
  11. Coffee
  12. Technology
  13. Being Alive
  14. Baby Smiles and Laughs

So my little daughter is one, and has the biggest smiley happy face (when she’s smiling and happy, instead of screaming lol!) and it is so wonderful to get the chance to enjoy.

She is supposed to be napping. This is my one little time slot of peace and quiet, when the kids are at school and she takes a nap. But she woke up after a very short nap, just as I sat down with my coffee and laptop. Typical. She was crying as I walked up the stairs, and I was annoyed going up to her too because she was supposed to be asleep for another hour. But I walked in the door and her face broke into this huge smile and she had the happiest loveliest look on her face seeing me. And it made me smile too.

I know how lucky I am to have each of my children, and because I have bigger gaps between each of them than most of my friends (almost 4yrs between each) it means that I have more energy as such to enjoy the little things with each of them. And this baby is my last, and I really want to enjoy every last bit of it. Making her laugh and smile is very easy and so much fun, and it makes me laugh and smile too seeing her reaction.

Yesterday we were in a waiting room of people, and she was smiling and waving at everybody expecting a response from them. And people smiled and waved back. So here you had a group of people sitting there bored waiting for their turn, and all of a sudden they are smiling and interacting with a strangers baby. That is what a babies smile does. It can bring so much joy, even to strangers!

There’s a reason that there are all the different laughing babies videos on Youtube, because seeing a baby laugh and chuckle will make you smile and chuckle along too. I am lucky enough to have my own little laughing baby here and I am so thankful and grateful for having this time with my little woman.

Happy New Year!

Belated Happy New Year to everyone!

The end of 2015, and the beginning of 2016 have been very busy indeed.

I had a few things that I wanted to wrap up and have out of the way before Christmas, and wedding thank you cards were very high on that list for me. I spent a few days and sat down and wrote them and sent them, it was a huge relief when they were sent. I really was so grateful for everything people did for us for the wedding that I wanted to make sure the year didn’t end without us sending the cards (I don’t have a great track record with thank you cards. I have bought them on each baby, and only on the last child did I actually manage to write them – and at that I only delivered about 75% of the writen cards!)

Our grand-daughter arrived last week (my step-grand-daughter, officially) and so we have been trying to help out and spend time with her and her parents. She is amazing, and I am hoping that having these grand-children (there’s another arriving within a month!) will help me ward off any more broodiness I may have for wanting more of my own!

Also our washing machine finally went kaput, so we have had no way of washing our clothes for the last week (luckily I was up to date before Christmas) – while working out what our options were going to be. But I have just ordered a new washing machine (which is actually a wedding present that my aunt and uncle realised would be needed soon!) so I am very excited about its arrival at the weekend. I would also say my step-mum will be happy to hear, as I arrived to her house today with 4 loads of laundry… I’ll bring the rest tomorrow!!

We had a lovely Christmas, and New Year. The kids were back to school this morning, and somehow I managed to get them there in one piece, with uniforms and lunches so a good start! I have so much that I want to do in 2016, and I’m looking forward to seeing what and how much do I actually manage to get done! x

Our Pups! 6wks old :)

It is such a beautiful day here today! The kids are having a great time playing outside with their friends, I’m getting load after load of laundry done (great drying out there 😉 ) – I almost thought I had an empty laundry basket but found some more clothes in Princess P’s room!

I took some pics of our gorgeous pups yesterday! So cute I had to share 🙂

I hope you’re all getting to make the most of the weather. Its supposed to be here until Friday, so another lovely day to look forward to tomorrow! 🙂

Spoilt for Mothers Day!

I was completely spoilt today! I got lovely morning cuddles from my babies, then a delicious breakfast in bed along with flowers and chocolates! I was given two bunches of flowers, because when the other half brought the kids to the shop yesterday, they both wanted to choose a bunch!

After breakfast the kids went off on a “Granddad Adventure” and the other half got a roast dinner into the oven, gave me time to ready and plied me with tea. After a delicious late lunch/early dinner, we played for a while and then snuggled up on the couch together and watched a family movie. It was lovely 🙂

We also learnt that it will be a while before we can have movie time with popcorn again! The baby kept following the popcorn bowl up and down the couch as we tried to keep it away from her, so we had to abandon the idea of popcorn because it wasn’t fair on her! I have heard too many things about not giving popcorn under a certain age, so wouldn’t risk it (even though she did manage to get a few bits!!)

Did you have a nice day? I know it wasn’t Mothers Day in America, but hope you had a nice day anyway! 🙂
